Feature time + ramblings
Edit: I'm running another journal feature, and yet again I have employed the use of the devART forum. This time the entries are more specific, prompted by something I saw today which took a hold of my mind and raced off with it to places unknown. The theme is 'Discovery', and it's photography only, and this is the thread.I made a thread on the forums and got quite a few entries (about eighty deviants, with three thumbs each) so it was quite hard to narrow it down. Anyway, without further ado, I give you the features. They are in no particular order.

I like the lines here, and particularly the colour, the awesome blue. You might want to crop out the bit of stone on the right though

The intense colours and the simple composition won me over on this. Did you do any post-processing?

A nice and simple colourful photo, though I'm not sure about the focus ... my eyes tell me to focus on the large droplet bottom left, but the camera says to focus elsewhere ...

A nice visually appealing photo, but it's a bit tilted to the left. I think this photo would be more moody with a darker more sobre-looking overcast sky, or perhaps with dark storm clouds.

There's still a think called black and white. I like the image, but since you're shooting directly into the sun it's kind of washed out the other colours, so I think it would look better in black an white and perhaps play around with the contrast.

I like this piece ... it's nice and simple. A bit cliché, but I bet you could sell it for stock. The picture's tilted a bit to the left and I'd advise getting rid of that bit of blurred black stuff on the bottom.

A good creative use of double exposure

I think it would look good on the wall, though the scan is not the best in the world. Still, I like it.

A great capture of something most people walk (or sail) by. I love the addition of the yellow leaf, as well. An overall favourite.

I took a similar picture a while back, but this one definitely turned out better. I particularly like the positioning of the trees inside the puddle. Might want to include the whole puddle as there's bare space at the bottom and it's cut off at the top ... unless of course there was an obstruction.

I was going to feature another one of your photos but this one I think demonstrates your attention for beautiful details. I love the small depth of field, the colours and the negative space up top.

Very simple and 'clean' ... maybe a bit too simple but it's awesome anyway.

A nice image, though as someone commented it would have looked better over to the right of the frame ... a shallower depth of field might have had an advantage also but I don't know the limitations of your camera. Next time you might want to keep the top part of the wing

A pretty comical image, and I like it. Not much I can say about it. What alterations in photoshop?

I was going to say something about the darkness of the top part of frame, but on second though I think it works. I think it would be awesome if a guy in a old-style hat was on the left bench and a more modern guy with a cap on the bench to the right. XD

Awesome symmetrical image, and I love the reflection of the clouds on the inside
